AUTHOR'S NOTE:
I have included a handy printing guide in the images attached. Due to the need to print these through INGRAM SPARK, a company which uses a different printing press and warehouse to Amazon, there will be most likely be minor variations in print tone and final colours (which is also common across Amazon's different warehouses worldwide and print on demand distribution centres).
These variations happen all the time in indie publishing - but I just wanted to demonstrate an example pulled off my shelf of both an Amazon printed copy and an Ingram printed copy side-by-side.
My cover designer and I will be doing our very best to colour-match and view a print proof in advance to ensure we are achieving the closest match possible for SAVING THE RAIN, but I want to be transparent with the challenges of achieving a 100% printing consistency in indie publishing.
I apologise in advance if this is seen as a failing on my part. I am truly grateful to my publisher, Kensington, who have allowed me to offer a limited run on INDIE EDITIONS in this manner for people who want to complete their 'indie set' of covers, but I also appreciate that minor variations might be viewed as unacceptable by some book collectors.
I can only hope that you, my wonderful readers and supporters, understand that in the world of indie publishing we are working with the small handful resources available to us (which is even smaller down in this part of the world in Australia/New Zealand), and that will often mean that there are things such as paper weight, printer ink, and tone that are beyond our control with regards to small-run printing and distribution.
